Memorial Day Weekend, a time to remember the people who have served our country. Personally I have an older sister who was in the Army and an uncle who was in the Marines. I am truly grateful that my family members are still all here with us and they are doing great. This 3 day weekend we mostly hangout with friends and family, had drinks, and just relaxed. With that being said, I didn’t wear makeup and my outfits were minimal. It was too hot in the valley that I even decided to wear my hair natural, what do you all think? I hope you all had an amazing and safe weekend.

Coco Before Chanel

What She's Wearing
Coco Made Me Poor Top: G Stage (Here)
Pleated Pink Shorts: Forever 21 Plus Size (Here)
Moto Faux Leather Jacket: H&M (Similar Here)
Multi Strap Pump: Call It Spring (On Sale Here)

Since spring is in full effect I wanted to play around with some color. Everywhere I went that day, I received compliments on my bright colored shorts which I recently bought at Forever 21 in the plus size department. It’s personally really hard for me to find this kind of material that fits me because I am considered “Plus Size”…I’ve truly learned to embrace that! Bright colored shorts are huge for the spring and summer and can be worn during the day for running errands and at night for some drinks with friends. I decided to do a black and white scheme so the shorts would pop more. Never be afraid to add some color to your normal everyday life. Last but not least the shoes are just to die for! They’re from Call It Spring and are currently on sale!!!!!

Spring Fever

Spring has to be my favorite time of the year because it’s time to bring out the light coats and blazers and put away all the winter attire. For this look I decided to keep it simple and  let the romper do all the work.
 What She's Wearing
Floral Romper: Forever 21 (Here)
White Blazer: H&M (Similar Here)
Nude Platform Heels: Charlotte Russe (Similar Here)
Gold Rings: H&M (Similar Here)
Jeweled Earrings: Similar Here
One of the things I most miss about the spring and summer is my tan. I tend to get lighter and have to switch up my makeup foundation. I have recently upgraded my foundation to MAC Studio fix with SPF 15 in the color NC40. I will admit when I went to esthetic school, I wasn’t the best makeup artist and have been  practicing my skills lately.  I told myself I needed to spice things up a bit so I went out and bought some new makeup!
For my eyes I used the Urban Decay eye shadow primer potion (I also put some on my eyebrows since I fill them in with a gel from Elf). I also used the original naked pallet from Urban Decay because it’s easy to use and the pigments are so simple. For my cheeks I used Orgasm by NARS and for my lips I did the Wet n Wild Think Pink. Wet n Wild has great colors for very inexpensive prices. For a longer last I usually set it with a translucent powder.
On to the rings, I have had a lot of girls asking me where I got the rings and the answer is H&M!!! They were selling them in a pack for $6 and I scored some in gold and silver.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are all getting a nice start to your Spring.

A 'Fair'ytale

Our neighborhood always has small fairs but we never go because not only are they expensive but the rides aren’t all that fun. On our way to dinner we decided to stop by for some quick photos since the scenery is pretty and the lights are vibrant.  One fair we will be going to this year is the LA County Fair, surprisingly we have never gone and we have heard great things about it. We probably won’t be wearing our Sundays Best when we do go.
She's Wearing
Back Cut Out Peplum: H&M (Here)
Faux Fur Jacket: H&M (On Sale Here)
Polka Dot Leggings: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
Silver Metallic Pumps: Forever 21 (Here)
Burgundy Fringe Clutch: Target (Here)

Black Button Up: H&M (Here)
Grey Skinny Tie: 21 Men (Similar Here)
Burgundy Chinos: Cotton On (Similar Here)
Double Monk Strap Shoes: H&M (Similar Here)
California has had really nice winter weather but at night it does get a little chilly. We both recently purchased our jackets at H&M during their recent sale. I scored this white coat online for a pretty price as well as another grey jacket you will be seeing soon on the blog. They are both still available! Jesal’s bicker jacket is also very versatile and can be dressed up or down.

Our outfits are a mixture of old items paired with new ones. We both sometimes forget to bring out the old items and dress them up differently, and that’s when “I have nothing to wear” comes out. We are all very guilty but after the holidays and gift spending, it is necessary. This is also a great reminder for people who shop on a budget. We don’t really splurge but if we had to both spend a pretty penny, I think we would both agree that shoes/heels are our only must have items!

We hope you all are having a nice week so far!

Mint Condition

She's Wearing
Sheer Top: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
Mint Jeans: G Stage (Similar Here)
Turquoise Heels: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
Statement Nacklace: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
I don’t have a favorite color but if I had to choose it would fall under the mints, blues, and greens category. I wasn’t comfortable with wearing an all mint ensemble so I decided to tone it down with an off white sheer top.
Again, weather in Cali is super unpredictable so sheer may not be the best option if you live somewhere where winter is in full effect. This outfit can be dressed up or down, I later wore this outfit to my little cousin’s birthday party so it was kid friendly.
I do have to say my favorite part of this outfit is the necklace. Statement necklaces are huge this year and this one from forever 21 was very inexpensive. Statement necklaces can add the perfect touch to a simple outfit

We hope you enjoyed this post!

Los Angeles Love

There really is no way to describe how I feel about Los Angeles. I will say that I am one of those people who are proud of where they’re from. I am Latina and my family is from Mexico but my heart will always belong in the City of Angels. Some of my favorite songs are based on Los Angeles, like Red Hot Chili Peppers “Under the Bridge” or Tom Petty “Free Falling”.
She's Wearing
Studded Tiger Sweatshirt: Forever 21 (Here)
Black Skater Skirt: Cotton On (Here)
Black Thigh High Socks: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
Black Ankle Booties: Forever 21 (Similar Here)

Growing up here has been very memorable! From Down Town LA, to Santa Monica beach, and cruise back to the Valley. There’s nothing you can’t do. My favorite thing about living in LA is the people and all the cultures. There are all kinds of people and inspiration. My favorite thing to do is people watch and try to figure people out, find out what their story is.
The weather here is finally starting to cool down and its time to bring out the sweaters, high thigh socks, and booties!  This sweater has to be one of my favorites at the moment because there are multiple ways you can wear it, its definitely a must in a woman’s wardrobe this season!

Fashion Week Pt. 2- Project Ethos

I know were a little late on this post but we still wanted to share our experience that we had at a Los Angeles Fashion Week Event. We were so lucky when our friend Claudia from The Penny Closet invited us to join her for the Project Ethos Fashion Show. We also had the pleasure of meeting a local blogger Andriana from La Moda By Andriana. We shared a lot of common interests as well as live in the San Fernando Valley. It's amazing how you meet people and connect with them on a lot of levels.
We both decided to wear darker colors since we have transitioned over to fall. Jesal kept it simple and chic in burgundy corduroys and a button up and Kim decided to keep it classy and flirty in fringe and florals. (We swear we didn’t plan on matching!!!)
She's Wearing
Fringe Top: Gstage ( Similar Here)

We cant stress enough how amazing it is to create friendships with people like Claudia and other bloggers we have met. We cant wait for next years LAFW!
