Closets For Causes Event

We attended a Closets for Causes benefit in DTLA hosted by the lovely Blake and Ashley from Anything & Everything LA. The location was amazing and the entertainment was beautiful.

We decided to keep our outfits simple and light because it was a warm day in LA. Kim decided to wear an H&M dress with a pop of blue with her Aldo heels and Jesal wore an H&M blazer and Allen Edmonds wing tips.
We decided to go with our friend and also blogger Terry from Oh, Ivory. Can we just say that she looked stunning in all black and gold accessories?

Everyone we met was local and it was amazing to connect on the same level of interests.
From left to right we have some Instagram Crushes Rosie, ErinnAshley, Kim, and Terry
Here we have Blake, Jeremy, and Martin, and Jesal all looking very dapper.

We had a blast and we hope to attend more events in the future with our local style bloggers.

KristiXOXO

About a couple weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Kristi of KristiXOXO . We decided meet up and have dinner at Sol Y Luna on Ventura Blvd. We shared some great stories and had some amazing food.
Kristi is by far the nicest blogger we have met yet, she is beautiful inside and out and is very humble about what she does.
It was fun to connect with a very stylish and smart local person and we cant wait to do it again.

Monochrom-Addict

She's Wearing
Camouflage Leather Jacket: DTLA (Similar Here)
Olive Dress: H&M (Similar Here)
My Weekend in Paris Heels: Lola Shoetique (Here)
Spiked Necklace: H&M (Similar Here)
Cat Eye Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (Similar Here)
Black Purse: H&M (Similar Here)
For this look I decided to do a semi monochromatic look with a twist of camo and leather. It is getting warmer here in Los Angeles so this might be one of the few more times I can wear this jacket.
Since it is getting warmer, you will start seeing me put my air up in a bun. This is the easiest and fastest way to complete any outfit. It can also give you the opportunity to accessorize some bold earrings or necklace. I decided to go with a spiked necklace from H&M to spice it up.
Down town Los Angeles is one of my favorite places to do some bargain shopping. There are several Lola Shoetique’s in LA which is where I buy most of my heels. These in particular have to be one of my favorites at the moment because they’re unique and similar to the JC’s. I was also lucky enough to find this jacket in down town at a great price.

My outfit was to compliment some of my favorite gals from Instagram to do a fun collaboration. Arleene decided to go with the purples, Melanee killed it in the nudes, and Lyndsey did cute pops of yellow. Please make sure to check out their fabulous blogs and Instagrams.

Cruel Summer

 He’s Wearing
Tuxedo Dinner Jacket H&M
Basic Tank: 21Men
Black Skinny Jeans: H&M
Black Spiked Loafers: Aldo
Vintage Gold Watch Casio
Summer in LA is extremely hot. For this look I went for a bold all black ensemble. Wearing a tank is super comfortable and adding the dinner jacket brings the look together.

I am a fan of minimalism when it comes to getting dressed. As you can tell by this outfit, there is not a lot of things going on but each piece is an essential in my wardrobe.
Living in beautiful Los Angeles we are exposed to such much beautiful art. I got the chance to pose next to these Mexican American murals. Aren’t they amazing?

Every Rose Has It's Thorn

 She's Wearing
Black Cat Eye Shades: DTLA (Similar Here: Here)
Black Bustier Top: G STage (Similar Here)
Floral Print Blazer: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
Woven Skater Skirt: G Stage (Here)
Black Alexa Heels: Lola Shoetique (Here)
Gold Necklace: Forever 21 (Similar Here)
I decided to pair this beautiful floral print blazer with a simple black and white ensemble. I have been contemplating on this bustier trend with a skirt because of my body type but I decided to just go with it. When I put outfits together, I experiment with prints and trends to match my body type.

I fell in love with these heels from Lola Shoetique because they are identical to the heels from Zara but at half the price. I decided keep it simple and accessorize a gold necklace to compliment the gold detail on the heel.
Did anyone notice my tattoos? There are always stories behind tattoos and I will share mine with you. Jesal and I have matching tattoos on our shoulder of our birthdays. The ink was not to prove anything to anyone, just to show each other our love for one another. I also have a green elephant on my right wrist to represent my grandmother who has already passed away.  She believed elephants bring good luck and she used to collect them and decorated her home with them. It is a beautiful memory I will always hold in my heart.

Thank you for letting me share that with you all and I hope that you all liked my outfit as much as I did.

Cool, Calm, Collective

He’s Wearing
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Wayfarers (Here)

Dress Shirt: H&M Premium Collection (Similar Here)
Watch: Timex Weekender (Similar Here)
Cardigan: Hawkings McGill (Similar Here)
Chinos: Cotton On (Similar Here)
Tassel Dress Loafers: Aldo (Similar Here)
Being of Mexican decent and raised in Los Angeles, I fell in love with everything Americana. For this look I went with a dress shirt, cardigan, chinos, and gave it a European touch with these tassel loafers from Aldo.
“Cool, Calm, & Collective” is a philosophy I try to live by. Getting dressed shouldn’t be a challenge everyday. In my opinion, basic garments is the key to a great wardrobe. My style depends on how I’m feeling that day.
Men should dress with a purpose, as if you were going to meet your worst enemy today.

"A Love Story" Part 2

He's Wearing

Stripped T Shirt: 21 Men (Similar  Here)
Navy Blazer: H&M (Similar Here)
White Denim: 21Men (Here)
Red Tassel Loafers: Aldo (Similar Here)

She's Wearing
Neon Pink Woven Fringe Top: G Stage (Here)
Leather Skater Skirt: G Stage (Similar Here)
White Wedges: Rhapsodielle (Similar Here)
Accesories: Forever 21 (Here, Here, Here)
For the second look, we decided to go for a more causal and fun look. Our personalities can sometimes shine though our outfits. Everyday it is something different and that is why we don’t have a specific style. Its important to have classic pieces in your wardrobe that you can dress up or down.
Mixing and matching pieces is something we do because it is important to budget ourselves. For example, all Jesal did was change his shoes and shirt to create a completely different appearance. Jesal decided to focus the look around his red loafers to go for a “nautical” look.

Kim is not afraid to take risks with her outfits as shown in this ensemble. You’d be surprised of the outfits you could create with new purchases and clothing you already own. She decided to pair this bright pink fringe top with a trendy leather skater skirt for an edgy approach.

We hope you enjoyed these two looks from “A Love Story” . We would love to know which look was your favorite and why.

The photos from "A Love Story" were taken by the lovely Kelly. She is a Latina photographer in Los Angeles. Please make sure to check out her website for any booking inquiries or just to show her some love.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is an art museum located on Wilshire Boulevard. The Urban Light sculpture by Chris Burden has to be one of the most popular attractions in L.A. We have lived in L.A our entire lives and this was the first time we visited the museum. It is beautiful and the best part about it is that people can enjoy the outside attractions for free.

If you are ever in Los Angeles, we strongly suggest you stop by the LACMA. Please visit us again soon for the second part of this photo shoot with a more casual look.

We hope you enjoyed!
