Nzuri Lash Event

Last Sunday we attended an event that blogger friend Melanee hosted in Beverly Hills for Nzuri Lash.
I had the great opportunity to meet new bloggers and also meet the faces we only see on instagram. All the girls looked beautiful as usual and the salon is amazing!
My blogger besties Theresa and Claudia also attended the event, they both looked stunning in mint and leopard!
I decided to keep my outfit simple in faux leather and thigh high boots. Lately my hat obsession has gotten worst so of course I had to wear my dark magenta hat from H&M.
I also had the pleasure in meeting Denise from Deux Estilo and her partner in crime Nashyely who we did our Christmas shoot with. These two girls together and definitely a good time!!

These event are always a great time, especially when you are there with friends. I would definitely suggest you check out Nzuri Lash next time you are in the Beverly Hills area because all the girls who worked there had amazing lashes and hair! I will be making my way back soon to get some long lashes!

Non Fiction

Statement Necklace: Ebay (Here)
Since we’ve been receiving great feedback on our blog we have dedicated ourselves to posting more frequently this year… that means work on our days off! We honestly don’t mind it because we enjoy what we do. This past Saturday we stopped by our local library to pick up some books on Buddhism because we have been very open minded about learning different cultures and religions.  As we were looking around, we decided to have ourselves a little photo shoot.
The tutu I am wearing was a DIY! It only cost $3 to make, unbelievable right? I bought all the materials at my local flea market in San Fernando.  I was going to buy one but I felt guilty spending more than $50 on a trendy item. Trends go so quick and I believe that we shouldn’t have to break the bank to have trendy items. Also on sale were the beautiful heels from Zara and not to mention my $12 crop top from Forever 21. I did wear this outfit for New Year’s Eve and I decided to wear it again so you can see the outfit better. Yes I am a repeat offender!

Black Skinny Jeans: H&M (Similar Here)
Double Monk Strap Shoes: H&M (Similar Here)
Houndstooth Tie: 21 Men (Similar Here)
Jesal always looking so handsome wore one of my favorite buttons ups that he has, I love it because men should also be able to wear feminine prints like polka dot. Why not? He added the houndstooth for a pop of print and kept it simple with black skinnies and his current favorite monk strap shoes.
We hope you are all off to a great week!

Mean Girl

In reality I’m not a mean girl but sometimes it does feel like we have left the real World and entered “Girl World”, but who doesn’t like a little Mean Girls humor? Somehow, someway, we have all been personally victimized by a Regina George. Growing up, I had my fair share of girls bullying me and calling me names and putting me down. For a long time I didn’t understand why or what I ever did to deserve such hatred…but then I grew up and decided not to give a F#%@!!! It’s the truth, I know now in days the bullying is extreme because of the different factors that play in but we as humans have to learn that it’s not us with the problem, it’s them. Sometimes it is better to just turn the cheek and laugh at it all.

White Cut Out Heels: Lola Shoetique (Similar Here)

Who says we’re not beautiful because we aren’t a certain size or our image isn’t “attractive”. One of the reasons I was inspired to blog was because I didn’t really see any “thick” woman doing it. I thought it was ridiculous and I had to do something about it and what better way to go through this journey with the person I love (Jesal). Beauty comes in all sizes and colors and not only that, its skin deep.
Bullying is NEVER okay! Name calling is NEVER okay! If you have nothing nice to say have some manners and keep your thoughts to yourself! We are all beautiful in our own way…never forget that.

A 'Fair'ytale

Our neighborhood always has small fairs but we never go because not only are they expensive but the rides aren’t all that fun. On our way to dinner we decided to stop by for some quick photos since the scenery is pretty and the lights are vibrant.  One fair we will be going to this year is the LA County Fair, surprisingly we have never gone and we have heard great things about it. We probably won’t be wearing our Sundays Best when we do go.

California has had really nice winter weather but at night it does get a little chilly. We both recently purchased our jackets at H&M during their recent sale. I scored this white coat online for a pretty price as well as another grey jacket you will be seeing soon on the blog. They are both still available! Jesal’s bicker jacket is also very versatile and can be dressed up or down.

Our outfits are a mixture of old items paired with new ones. We both sometimes forget to bring out the old items and dress them up differently, and that’s when “I have nothing to wear” comes out. We are all very guilty but after the holidays and gift spending, it is necessary. This is also a great reminder for people who shop on a budget. We don’t really splurge but if we had to both spend a pretty penny, I think we would both agree that shoes/heels are our only must have items!

We hope you all are having a nice week so far!

P.S. I Love You

Last weekend we attended a family wedding. We had such a great time because you can really learn from other couples on what love is. Love is something different to everyone else. It’s a beautiful thing to see a couple join as one and take each other for good or bad.

I decided to wear a leather dress from H&M (only $15), some strappy heels from Lola Shoetique, and of course my outfit wouldn’t be complete without my signature red lip!
We went to H&M to try and find something to wear because we weren’t sure of what to wear for a winter wedding in California. We both went for a simple and chic look and wore black. Jesal decided to pick up a red skinny tie for a pop of color and wore some amazing pair of Monk-Strap shoes.
Love always seems to be in the air, we like to believe that when you find that special someone you just know. One thing we have learned about love is that you can’t rush it. It’s something that takes time and patience. It’s always a work in progress. In December we completed our 7 year anniversary!!! We couldn’t be more happy and excited to start another year together because not only are we a team, but we truly are sole mates.

We hope you all had an amazing New Year!
